Sexy search terms…

Ever since I discovered google analytics several years ago I’ve found it very interesting to see what search terms bring visitors to this site.  The bulk of traffic I get is brought here by search enegines (mostly Google).  While there are often strange searches, occasionally there is one that is just funny–funny like “what was going through this person’s head” funny.

One example of that was a search string that brought someone here in 2006, right after my senior year in seminary: “sexy protestant seminarian.”  The search was conducted at 2:15 am which makes one wonder exactly what was going on there.

Well, I was looking over my stats today and what should I find but that the following search string led someone here:

Sexy search term...

You heard it here first…

Gah! I can’t think of a good joke that doesn’t sound terribly mean-spirited. Let’s just assume I said something really witty about Google’s standards here…

Or maybe we should do a calendar? That might help our budget woes…

    Adam,

Given the fact that only one person has reached this site with each of the above search terms, I imagine the calendar wouldn’t sell that well. Of course, there was that Mormon calendar that got the photographer (and subjects?) kicked out of the LDS church. It would be an interesting social experiment to see whether a caldendar would get one kicked out of TEC, but I don’t think I’m the one to conduct it.

As far as Google’s standards–they just follow the trends… “do no evil”, you know…

    :-p
